I ordered these tags and when they arrived I thought they really looked smart., but later in the evening my OH said "that's not a good idea, it has your name and e-mail and telephone number on, so while at the airport or wherever your going from, a thief can copy your details down, name, phone number, and can ring your home, if it answers then they wont bother, but if it rings and rings or switches over to an answerphone, they can be pretty certain that you are away on your hols, they get your address from a telephone book (if your not ex-directory) just by looking up your name (which is on the tag,) they can work out what area your live by the telephone code and first 2 numbers of your telephone number, and then round they got and you can come back to an empty house.
I used to be part of a crime prevention panel and this was reported to us a couple of times, on one occasion the people arrived home to their very large house to find it empty, and no one took any notice of removal men putting everything into a lorry because these people kept very private and did not mix with their neighbours.
So my advice to you is to shred your luggage tags, and get new ones without your name, Telephone number and e-mail address on...The Looney o:EasterBunf Loughborough..0 -
