(where basically there was disasterous customer service from index/LXdirect)
I keep getting marketing bumpf from LXdirect and Index through the post and email. The email is done through some dodgy looking 3rd party so I am scared of unsubscribing, and I just chuck the postal stuff in the bin.
I was in the middle of doing that today when I actually opened the envelope for some reason, and I notice I have my 6th statement (never seen the other 5!) with an account number showing I'm 4p in arrears and I have to pay by 13th Sept!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What the hell? I paid the amount in full by debit card!!! I never asked nor gave permission for them to set an account up for me!!! Where do these pillocks get off?????
Not sure what I am going to do but I would love to go down to their head office with a bazooka....

I agree - they can be fairly useless. It seems purely luck of the draw whether you get satisfaction or not, which is not a great way to do business IMHO.
Have had several orders with them in the past and wouldn't rule out using them again, simply because they can be very cheap. Trust them about as far as I can chuck them though. Most times I have had no probs - generally for stuff they stock themselves.
As with many similar companies they offer a lot of stuff that is fulfilled through other companies and this is where I think they are truly rubbish. These companies have yet to discover the fact that computer systems can actually talk to each other. Their website is often downright misleading.
What compounds all this is they have a customer service team that can only politely be described as lacking the required degree of flexibility - which means when one has a genuine cause for complaint, you and the person you are talking to have little other option than to get as wound up as possible.
I think any reasonable person is going to agree mistakes are possible, IMHO it is how a company resolves said situation that provides a true value of their worth.
Guaranteed satisfaction from this lot? I don't think so...
Hmm...
Actually don't condone the bazooka bit at all (do they still exist or do they have a much less cool name now?), but I get where you are coming from!0
