Welcome / FCS taking some time?

Hi there,
I filled in the questionnaire i recieved from welcome and received a letter back on the 15th of April stating it would take up to 30 working days and my claim was being investigated.
30 days has now been and gone, i have spoke to Welcome over the phone who said my claim had been upheld/accepted but is with the FCS for final decision to approve the amount but still no letter received or funds in to my bank account.
Has anyone else been waiting over 6 weeks? The usual turn around i've heard on here so far was half this time.

You should not be waiting too long now then, but if you've not done so yet, chase this up with the FSCS.
When I made a claim through the FSCS via different company, mine taken well over a year and a half, because even though the claim was already within the FSCS/Deloittes it was then a matter of just waiting for the loan company to go in default, but with Welcome already in default, its just a matter of time, but do call them, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hello,
I sent off my questionnaire to Welcome on the 5th May. I also had the acknowledgement letter plus a request for my driving licence to verify identification. I sent this to them, they returned it really quickly, then, 3 weeks later I received a letter asking for the driving licence plus counterpart - I was not best pleased .
I sent this to them last week and they were returned 2 days later.
So, after all these holdups I am still waiting.

Paid into bank account this morning £1347.00 !
As I said , lots of letter backwards and forwards but eventually got there !
Despite all that it took about 5 weeks , so I'm sure you'll hear something soon Starbug !

So i contacted Welcome again via Telephone and Email to find out what was taking so long.. i received two emails this week basically fobbing me off further. We're now up to week 10... How its gone from a confirmation over the phone it was now waiting for approval with the FSCS to this, i do not know.

I claimed welcome at the end of February this year, it was dealt with by FSCS, I have recieved a letter saying that I have been successful and they awarded me £2700, I thought great but "no" because I have a loan still running with the company they are taking the amount off the balance that I owe. I am at the third stage of the grievance procedure as I am clearly saying that i did not take PPI out with the loan that I have and also what is owed to me is for old loans which are paid off, I am still awaiting further correspondance from them, so be aware.0 -
Update.
So i called them Friday and got fobbed off with some nonsense. Called them today and got someone useful who said there is a back log with the FSCS!0 -
After 15 weeks and countless phone calls, emails and letters to both Welcome and the FSCS including managerial escalation, i finally received payment in to my account today, £3182
