Personally, I'd buy a 360. I have all 3 consoles. The online experience of the PS3 is pants compared to Xbox Live and when games are released on multiple platforms, it always seems to be the PS3 version that has show stopping bugs - COD:Black Ops is a good example where it was 2 months after release before you could actually get a game without it freezing the console or randomly closing lobbies with none of those issues on the Xbox version.

Haven't seen any particularly good deals about just lately, but in response to Hammyman's XBox recommendation, I would say that it all depends on what you are mainly using it for ...

I have a PS3 and much prefer that to the XBox 360, although I very rarely play online. My 2 kids have XBox 360s, and they play online quite a bit, and from what I have seen, the online play does probably look better with the XBox

Have a look through the recent deals on hotukdeals http://http://www.hotukdeals.com/search?action=search&keywords=playstation+3 and see what the prices have been for the model you are after.

A 320gb slim model is £230 at Game with a game

Amazon have a 160gb for £200, 2 weeks ago the same was £150 in Sainsburys

Unless you need one specifically this weekend you might be better to keep your eye on on hotukdeals and strike when a good deal comes through.

Worth regularly looking on hotukdeals.com. I found that to be the best site to try and find the best local deal around my area :)

Sorry but for me the Xbox 360 kicks PS3 to yehaw.

I use the Xbox as a media center though, and with Kinect I can just say "Xbox, Bing The Matrix" and it'll search my connected PC's for anything related the Matrix and I can simply pick and play.

Though I did get the 250GB Xbox & Kinect & two kinect games for £160 and various other deals (like a £6 black wireless controler and new games like Crackdown 2, Halo Reach & ODST for £6 each) + other Microsoft hardware (and lots more xbox stuff) because I work for a Microsoft partner.

But hey, I have all three consoles in my Apartment, its just the Xbox has more games I like to play, with better online content and support.

These threads always decend into "don't get a PS3, get an Xbox"......yawn!

Truth be told, they're very evenly matched consoles and when weighing up all the pro's and con's you can hardly pick between them.

I've owned a 360, great console, no complaints. I currently own a PS3, I was tipped by the blu ray player and the fact that I prefer Sony 1st party games, not to mention that 1st party PS3 games are superior to 1st party 360 games graphically.

As I said though, very evenly matched overall.
