You could probably park around Holborn tube - not quite West End, but busy enough for yours not to be the only car in the street.

Good point! I am not sure if it is still the case but going back a few years there was almost always a policeman posted on the front steps of the Turkish Embassy - try to park on the NE side of the square if you can!

I don't think there is any parking so close to the embassy,; security and all that.

But I also remember hearing that Mrs T had a permanent copper outside her house in Chester Square.

ETA: Saying that, there seems to some pay and display spaces on the inside of the square.
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

If you're driving at far as Gants Hill, IMO it's worth the extra 5-10 min drive to Leytonstone where you'll be able to catch any east bound train home without having to wait for one that goes to the Gants Hill branch. It's really easy to get to Leytonstone from the M11, if that's the way you come.

On a Monday evening I wouldn't drive all the way into town, it will take much longer that time of the evening than the 45 min tube journey and that's without trying to avoid the CC zone. Then there's the stress of finding a parking space.

Yes - Lincolns Inn Fields will almost certainly have plenty of spaces which are free of charge from 6:30pm but bear in mind this is right in the middle of the Congestion zone (which will restrict travel time) and will still require a tube trip.
