I have contacted the finance company who have informed me that they have already paid Ford. I have been advised that I must allow Ford "Reasonable time" to repair the car so the way I see it, £225 is better then £1500. I can not see any other way out of the mess .

The dealer admitted deception in the loan payment amounts. That is, a crime was committed against your friend. Time to chat with a lawyer instead of going DIY.

If your friend wants to not risk money and accept the loss, try trading standards instead, but a lawyer is where he should be going.

The proper way out of the mess is:

    1. the dealership compensates your friend for the deception in the loan cost.
    2. the dealership accepts the car back
    3. the dealership cancels the loan agreement, paying all costs of doing so.

At present you're busy rewarding the sales person and dealership for cheating your friend.

You only need to allow reasonable time if it were a minor fault. The mechanic said it wasn't road worthy, therefore it is not fit for it's purpose. Stop talking get writing, reject the vehicle demand your deposit and px if any back. they have 10 days to comply. Send via recorded delivery to dealer, finance company, and trading standards.

The dealer, salesman and finance company want the sale to still go ahead.

Stop listening to the people who will gain from delaying you and your friend, and take the advice you are being given.

Sorry if this sounds strong but inaction only benefits them not your friend.
    I have a cunning plan!
Proud to be dealing with my debts.

I have already sent a letter to Ford Head office, Ford credit, the ford dealership involved and Black Horse Credit.

All letters should have been recieved this morning.

  • Did you send them by Guaranteed next day delivery?
If not you'll be lucky if they are delivered by Saturday, by then everyone will be closing and winding down for Christmas.
