Removing data from Mobile Phone

Hi Techies, I hope this is in the right place
Ive just upgraded my mobile phone and am recycling the old one through RPC. I have a few questions to ask:
1. When I remove the SIM card to send it to them, the phone will not switch on. When I re-insert the SIM it works perfectly fine again. The price I was quoted depends on the phone working (which it does, but apparently not without a SIM)
2. I have a few photos either on the SIM or on the phone (doh, I'm so untechie!) that I'd like to keep. Is there any way I can send them to my laptop or anywhere else? The SIM is no longer live as I switched from O2 to Vodafone last week.
Wow, I sound like my granny but really I don't have a clue!
Thanks in advance

The photos will be on the old phone (phone memory or external card if it has one). If its got bluetooth, use that to transfer the photos to pc or the new mobile.
The bit about the phone working - when you sell a phone, I don't think you are expected to supply the sim - that is yours to keep.0 -
Can't enable Bluetooth - I assume it's because the SIM is not provisioned?
Also, the bit about the SIM card - that was my point. I know I have to remove the SIM card but when I do, the phone won't switch on. I've called the recycling company and they say they'd treat it as a broken phone if it won't switch on, even although it works perfectly well when the SIM is in.
Has anyone else ever come across this?0 -
Sell it privately.
They will shark you on the price anyway, worse than stated, not working, keys sticking, blah blah...Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
