Hi. I'm looking for a holiday to Banff, Canada for two adults for 7 nights. Want to fly from Manchester and can go anytime in Feb or March (when ever is the cheapest). Accomodation preferable 3* but RO will be fine. Not looking to spend more than £400 each. Hope someone can help.

try https://www.iglu.com I did see some 7 day packages somewhere a while back For £249 but that was for Jan which I was told it's about minus 30 BBBRRRrrrrr
will look for you
try lastminute.com or fasttrack holidaysI would love to be a Travel Agent :j0 -
Lastminute.com had trips to Banff for £249 but they seem to be gone. They still have Fernie, Panorama and Jasper.
I don't know about Fernie and Panorama but Jasper is quite nice, though it's a long trip. 9h30 flight and 5hr transfer from Calgary.
February is likely to be really cold which is fine if you're dressed for it. the problem is that it's difficult to get any speed up if it's in the -20's to -30 as it's too cold to get a decent melt under your skis. What goes around - comes around0 -
Thanks for the advice. I was originally looking at lastminute.com when they had the price at around £299 each for two of us but should have booked the other day as they've now gone. Main reason for looking at Banff was that we're looking at getting married in Lake Lousie in late spring 2008 so wanted to check out some of the hotels there and thought Banff was closest. -20 to -30 does sound far too cold though so think I may need a rethink.:A0

It was -40c when I was there! I think Lake Louise is about 3 of 4 hours away by coach though0

There is a large Hotel on the shore of lake Louise built in the French Chateau style.I have seen it in films it looks fantastic.
Sorry don't known the name of the hotel.
Canada doesn't start warming up until May!0 -
I've stayed in it - its lovely.
it is called chateau lake louise. was many years ago but there were huge picture windows in the dining room and the views were stunning. we had dinner while someone played a grand piano...fond memories. x x x0 -
Wear loads of layers, sure is cold there. Went on a ride around the frozen lake louise, reindeer or horses pulling us along on some big sleigh, went on forever, don't do it, so boring you end up wishing your life away cos it is soooooo cold and soo soo slow, I am shivering thinking of it, it was the coldest time of my life Great place for skiiing though0

Although it can be very cold (as said, -40......) it is a different kind of cold. It is very dry cold. I would say, until it gets over the -30 mark, it feels like a -10 here..... You are also dressed more for the weather as well.
I wouldn't let the idea of it being cold put you off.....
Lake Louise sure is a beautiful place to get married. We got married 8yrs ago in Zell am See in Austria, thoroughly recommended! Good luck!!!!:T
Igluski, as mentioned above, are very good for last minute bargain. Watch out for under occupancy supplements though. Most rooms, and headline rates, will be based on 4 sharing. Go to the http://www.skiclub.co.uk/skiclub/default.asp , the have a very useful holiday finder which will give you a list, including websites, of the firms which fly to Banff.0 -

Lake Louise should only be 2 hours away from Calgary at the most. I'm moving there shortly so have done the trip plenty of times now!:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0
