But when I looked closely, a lot of them had "Offer Ends 7 Ju[STRIKE]ly[/STRIKE]ne"
Is this a new trick, don't take the offer signs down when the offer ends?
They weren't under staffed at the time, and they were not busy as it was p!ssing down. It's a small town, most people can walk to Morrisons in 10 minutes, so when it rains they just wait until it stops before going out.
Edit: Spelled June with an ly instead of an ne. Aw come on, have you never sat there and not known what month it is?
Typical Morrisons ploy - certainly at our nearest outlet (Doxford Park).
You really have to scrutinise every purchase where 'offers' are concerned.
Their usual party piece is where a space has been left on a display where a special offer has been located and sold out, they will leave the offer prices on the shelf, but fill in the gap with a very similar more expensive item.
It is a regular occurence - too frequent to be an error!
And as for the obstacle courses in the aisles - it is only a matter of time before some poor kid is seriously hurt with those stupid heavy plant pots and other free standing heavy items stacked precariously and obstructing the gangways.
Don't get me going on that one!0 -

I agree, I see it all the time in my local too. Sometimes they never have the item that's on offer, but put something else in it's place.
Not long ago the had spuds on offer, it was a 3kg bag for £1. But all through the offer there were only 2.5kg bags in the dumper at £1.99. They were always place face down too, so you couldn't see they were not the ones on offer unless you actually picked them up.
I asked the lad once, and he said it was because the number one rule is "never leave an empty space, if you haven't got the right product for the space put something similar there"
That's all well and good, but the second rule should be "Then remove the special offer sign".0 -

Yeah when I worked at Sainsburys it was similar, never leave gaps on the shelves fill them with something else but it was always emphasied the importance of removing the old tickets.
It was checked to as the person that came in from an external company that checked for stock also checked that the tickets were correct.
I get the impression that Morrisons don't have these external companies come in an check on their stores, probably don't want to pay for it.0 -
I popped in around 5:30 today, just to look at the signs.
I only looked at the first one I came to, and it definitely said "Offer ends 7 June" and no mention of "or while stocks last".
So they've been up 3 days after the offer ended.0 -
i noticed this lately. they had washing powder with 2 price tags one said £4 and the other said £6.49 or something. i questioned it as i said which is the correct price., only to be told the eaer price was the price one, the £4 was from last week when it was on offer. but the staff memeber said i'll remove it now, but if you want it, you can have it for £4.
I had to pay for it at full price then go to customer services to get the difference back.0 -
I've had similar fun and games in Asda. This was objecting to a huge 'Rollback' sign next to the SP orange juice when I knew for a fact that the price had just crept (galloped even!) up and up over the recent months. Guy I spoke to (some sort of manager he fancied himself as) was very patronising and seemed determined not to apologise for misleading customers. It had disappeared by the next time I went in!
And then I had the absolute converse: generally I only go to Asda once a week but I needed to go mid-week a couple of weeks ago. In the foyer was a huge stack of Heinz tinned tomatoes (4 pack) for £1. I went in on the Friday and the big stack was still there but marked £3 something. Very confused when I went back the following Friday and they were £1 again!
Any wonder we don't trust supermarkets?0 -

Pay day, £1 the week before pay day, then £3 for the week people get paid (and do their monthly shopping) , then £1 again.0 -
I bought 3 x Scampi bites like a plum when it was 3.49 each or 2 for £3.
Luckily they allowed me another bag and 49p refund when I went back for a couple of extra bits.
Weird how cheaper to buy 2!!!!!!!!!0
