I was in Morrisons earlier today, and noticed a lot of "special Offers", much more than usual.

But when I looked closely, a lot of them had "Offer Ends 7 Ju[STRIKE]ly[/STRIKE]ne"

Is this a new trick, don't take the offer signs down when the offer ends?

They weren't under staffed at the time, and they were not busy as it was p!ssing down. It's a small town, most people can walk to Morrisons in 10 minutes, so when it rains they just wait until it stops before going out.

Edit: Spelled June with an ly instead of an ne. Aw come on, have you never sat there and not known what month it is?

Edit: Oops forgot to mention, my local Morrisons usually ends offers on a Sunday, so it was odd to see so many offers ending on a Tuesday. Especially as I couldn't remember seeing them on Monday or Tuesday.

It did cross my mind that maybe they only put the offer signs up on Wednesday or today, but even Morrisons can't be that sly, can they?

    Sorry, I meant June :o

But you've got me worried now, maybe all those offers were ending 7 July and I got the months mixed up.

No.....It was 7 Jun, I remember looking at my watch.

Oh no, I've also quoted myself instead of editing my post.

I think I'm having a senior moment, or two :o

Ours only puts that on items it doesn't normally stock, such as the boxes of 4 eggs. Or when it is a specially packaged item, such as "50% extra" or "15 eggs for the price of 12".

But it never says that on ordinary items it always has in stock, if it did the offer would last forever as they never run out of them.

I can't believe they forgot for two days. In that time someone must have bought them, thinking they were half price, then complained at the till when they weren't.

I used to work in a supermarket, and they would often keep offers on after the initial end date, either due to popularity (or lack of), and instead of printing new POS they would just keep the old stuff.

Wouldn't worry about it, everything will be okay.
