    Stop worrying, the DVLA will have the records to put the matter straight, they will or should have the paperwork from the
    party who bought the car.
    make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
    and we will never, ever return.

    I suppose the date the slip was sent should be proof enough that the car was no longer yours when the offence was committed. Did you make the buyer sign something to say they'd taken possession of the vehicle on a particular date?

    Make sure your son responds to the NIP within 28 days, he faces 6 points and a fine of about £500 for failing to name the driver if he don't.

    its not up to the new owners to register as the new keeper its your sons
    you people really need to read the v5c document most carefully
    let me reiterate
    you sell car
    you get buyer to sign bottom left hand side of v5 with date and with time car taken to the minute (you will find room trust me)
    you give middle right hand side slip to customer ,this is all he gets
    you the seller send left hand side to swansea and scan or photocopy it first so if it gets lost in the post you have a record of who where when it went to

    for the record dvla keep telling me to send these things registered post and its getting to the stage i might have to.............

    message ends........

    The current owner needs to send the details off these days, It was normal to buy a car and forget to send
    the logbook off for many reasons. No tax damn i just bought it 5 minutes ago i will tax it now.

    you are confusing the issue with this post as current owner could be construed as the person who now has possession of the car

    You dont face anything until you are convicted by a court, in this case he wont be.
