Haven Sun Holiday Upgrade Question

We booked a sun holiday to Haven Littlesea in July around March time, at the time we booked money was a bit tight so I didn't bother to upgrade the caravan, now things are a bit easier I am regretting not upgrading.

We have a 7 month old ds who has recently started crawling, so are going to need to take either his bouncer or activity centre with us and I'm worried that there won't be enough space for it in a standard 10 ft caravan, wishing I had upgraded to the 12 ft.

Does anyone know if you can upgrade at a later date or even on arrival? Or can you only upgrade at the time of booking?

Also, does anyone know if Haven caravans have microwaves? Another thing that didn't occur to me when we booked was that we would need to use the steriliser, at the time I was ebf, but now ds has porridge made with expressed milk I need to be able to sterilise my pump, so not sure if it is worth taking my steriliser or just the biggest tub I can find and using sterilising tablets.

We went on a sun holiday to Haven in April, I had a phonecall from them offering an upgrade about a week before we went so providing they have the caravans available you will bw able to upgrade now.
We didn't and just stayed in the basic accomodation and we had a microwave in our caravan, it was a 10ft one, and I have a 7 & 4 year old - I would have said there would be enough room for your little one to get around - but it depends on how much time you will be spending in the caravan.
    Hope you enjoy your break!

    Hi

Yes you can upgrade on the day IF they have upgrades available the cost of this is £20.00 - we always get there as early as possible and go to reception to book in & get an upgrade although youcant go in the van earlier you can use on site facilities etc..
we did this 3 weeks ago if we had upgraded the day before on the phone it would have cost us £134.00

hope you have a good hol

    Hi GPark,
As a seasoned Haven user, both through the Sun & direct, we always find a quick call direct to the site can help.
I always politely ask what discounts they have available. They always seem very friendly, and helpful.
As you are going in July, with it being high season, you may find they get booked up quickly. With a young baby you may wish to know you have the upgrade you need before you travel, without the uncertainty of waiting til you arrive.
If they don't offer a reasonable rate, just say no thanks, and then try when you get there.
To check what each grade of caravan offers, go to:
    http://www.haven.com/accomodation/index.aspx?tour=caravans&links=ext and click on accomodation
It is not the norm to get a microwave in the standard accomodation.
The only time we have had one in standard accomodation has been when we have been put in a privately owned caravan, which Haven often sub-let for the owners.
Hope this helps, and have a lovely holiday!!:)

Oh, by the way, Steph 1763 is definitely right, you can use the facilities on arrival, just keep you confirmation handy, and show this if you are asked for facility passes.
I always pack a separate bag with just swimming things in, and make sure it is easily accesible in the car.
We usually find this very handy, but if you don't get to swim on arrival, it is already prepared for when you do go.

    Have a great time!!:)

All accomodation now includes a microwave, new for this year I think. That said, my sister took sterilising tablets and used a dish in the caravan for her 7 month old.

I would have thought a 10 ft caravan would be big enough. The only time we bother to book something bigger is when there are 6 of us. My family of 4 happily fit in the 10 ft.
