Amazon seller agreed to cancellation contract then later sent items

I gave a cancellation notice to an Amazon seller about 20 minutes after buying an item. As Amazon shoppers know, you have about a 15min window in which to cancel an item -very easy.
He agreed to this contract of cancellation.
Several days later I find that he has gone ahead anyway and sent me the item.
The item arrives and a day later I get an email saying that it was a mistake, he tells me to keep the door shut and ignore the courier (a bit difficult to do, as I often have parcels arriving and I obviously don't know what is in the parcel).
He wants me to go out of my way to send the item back.
In a nutshell:
I believe him sending me the items after we agreed a cancellation contract is a breach of that contract
NO DOUBT
I will be sending the item back (will probably have to pay for that), but just want clarification that I am 100% obligated to send it back
Cheers!

Did the seller not put a from address on parcel, or can he not provide a description?
Either would allow you to refuse delivery when it turned up.0 -
The item arrived BEFORE the 'mistake' email0

The seller made a mistake and accidently sent the item, seems like your demonising them a little bit with the he is in breach of contract stuff. You have no contract as its been sold -- but you do have a duty to take reasonable care of the package and allow them to have it collected at their cost.
Just email them and say the parcel has been delivered to you and you will allow for them to arrange collection of the item -- problem solved.
Yes -- some things are really that simple to sort out

No, you can insist on him collecting it at his expence.Limebunker wrote: »I will be sending the item back (will probably have to pay for that), but just want clarification that I am 100% obligated to send it back

It's not unsolicited good's though if that's what your hinting at, so you can't just keep it, not saying that's what your thinking but people have in the past have asked this.0
