I have now been with Ovo for about 2 months. However I have now received an email advising they are doing a dd review and want to increase my amount by £5.00 per month because according to them based on estimate I will be £42.00 debit by March 2012.
However I have politely told them I will not pay anymore and WE will both review the dd at the end of Summer 2011.
I was previously with SP and if I was in debit at end of the Winter it would normally even itself out in the Summer months.
They have agreed to my request.
Thats the problem dealing with new start up company they do not have the financial resources behind them.

Why do you think that? They've agreed to your request haven't they?
It does say on their website they try hard to avoid consumers falling into debt (which by many posts on this site and elsewhere is a common issue by not collecting sufficient amounts by DD). At least the company have warned you of the likelihood, but at the same time agreed to your request to maintain the current collection levels for a while longer. Some of the big boys may not have been so accomodating..."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

I too have warned them:rotfl: of my intention not to pay it and because of my excellent customer service skills they agreed.0 -
Quite.
Took me ages to agree with Scottish Power not to increase my DD to £800/month after they claimed I owed £20,000 for their previous monthly reading. Clearly they had made an error!!0 -
You're lucky to get an email from Ovo. The Company appears to have stopped talking to me and the live chat option has ceased as well.
Edit - received a reply and a reduction in my direct debit.0 -
Can anyone tell me who they get there elec/gas off. And do they operate all over the country or just certain area's??0
