I recently had to send my laptop back to hp for a faulty power switch, two weeks after getting it back the usb ports keep going jippy, I have uninstalled everything usb in device manager then resarted it so it reinstalls them and it works fine for a while the goes doo lally again, I use a dongle so it keeps disconnecting, any ideas?

Probably the usb port is wearing out with repeat plug/unplugging (especially if you are into dongles). Worn out in sense its loose enough to lose connection now and then. Try different port if you have one or try using an extension cable to avoid furhter damage.

At 7 months old it should still be under warrenty, and it is possible they may have knocked something while doing the previous repair. I'd get back onto HP about it!
