Referring EDF to OfGem

I previously posted about the problems I'm having with EDF and the setting up of (what you would think would be easy for them) a DD on my account which I opened with them only in February.

Is there a set proceedure for referring compliants to Ofgem , and how long does it take to get the issues sorted?

TIA

You can't. Ofgem does not deal with individual consumer complaints.

If you have a complaint about the supplier, follow the suppliers own complaints procedure which should ultimately end up allowing you to take the matter to the energy ombudsman if no agreeable resolution is forthcoming.

So I found out when I went to Ofgem's website :rotfl:

tbh I've had enough of EDF - I've given them more than enough chances to get it right ....if it means getting the big guns involved then so be it - it wouldn't be so bad but to spend an hour, on average, just to get through to them is beyond.

How about an email laying out what you need them to do to satisfy your needs.

Unless you follow the suppliers own complaints procedure, going direct to the energy ombudsman will only result in a delay whilst you are told to follow the suppliers complaints procedure (or if you are really lucky they may send your complaint to the supplier on your behalf). Either way you still have to wait until the supplier investigates and responds...or gets timed out by their own procedure.

I would always recommend any complaint is put in writing and explain you want the response in a similar format. That way you can pass the evidence to the ombudsman later if necessary.
