BT Fault On Line

Found my security system not working today so I called the company. Having run a test they said there is a fault on your phone line & to call BT about it.

Got through to someone who could not understand the line was not used as a phone but to moniter my alarm but eventually BT ran a test & said there was nothing wrong with the line.

Got back to my security company who spent a lot of time checking the system again & said there definately was a fault with the BT line.

Got back to BT again who found there was a fault after all.

Now, in the last 5 years I have had 4 faults on the phone line & each time I have called them they state there is nothing wrong, it is only when you persist & demand they check it again that they find there was a fault all along.

I think its called fobbing you off.

I work for a security company, if someone gave me a pound for every time BT said a line was testing fine and we sent an engineer out only to find the line WAS faulty... well, I wouldn't be working for them anymore :p

And vice versa, there will be lots of times where the security companies state the fault is with BT, and it is actually with the monitoring equipment.

The number of times I have tried to get both OEMs onsite to look at a defect because they each blame the other.

You're lucky,I had about 4 different faults on my line,I had to get each one dealt with seperately, over a period of time (a long time,I am patient),as they don't understand more than one instruction. The best bit was when the engineer told me he had cut some branches off a tree, but all the trees are IN neighbours gardens,he couldn't seem to explain that one, good ol bt
