why oh why didnt i think of that? Get rid of the dog instead of the ivy lol - no dog = no real issues on our side ? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

i wouldn't go with poisoning a dog.. you could get in serious trouble with that, and then there are your children, what if they touch it.

Can you not attach some screening to the fence... had to do this over the council wire fence i have to stop the dog barking at the neighbours, and it is not expensive, or example wicks sell fencing panels slightly damaged for a fraction of the price.. your not going to loose that much space for the safety of your children

ivy would survive anyway! Its hardly going to kill it off that stuff grows through hell LOL!

I would put a new fence posts aswell beside it so then although you losing a few inches its nicer to look at and safe. My parents had to do the same as they had 4 gardens joining onto their back and none would allow a new fence for FREE!!

Or just send your children out the back with a real football and await the inevitable.

I wouldn't risk falling out with the neighbour. Like it or not you've got to live there and so does he. I'm squarely in the "erect your own fence" camp on this one - or at least double panel where you are most concerned.

I agree, but only if you can confirm that your neighbour owns the fence.
