Hi guys,
I have been looking around for a good desktop deal. I came across a refurbished desktop on ebay (sorry I cant post the link as I'm a new user! If you search "hp xw8200 dual xeon 3.6 tower pc" you will find it)
I know some basics about what to look for but not entirely sure about processors. Would 2 x Intel 64-bit Xeon HT 3.6Ghz be any good?
I use various programmes for work and my existing desktop cannot keep up anymore! I'm on a budget, hence why I was considering a refurbished desktop with a 3 year warranty.
Thanks

Only the hard drive has 3 yr warranty.
The cpu's score only 1219 here - http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_lookup.php?cpu=%5BDual+CPU%5D+Intel+Xeon+3.60GHz
Less than the cpu in this for £249 -score 1697 - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/2552510 -

LOL !!! -I don't know ! It's a more modern OS and most often shipped OS with new laptops/pc's.
I'm still using XP pro
Edit - ACER M3400
That is a good deal
- isn't the 2.7 amd athlon II x3 the 425 model ??
I'm sure an Argos refurbed will be better nick than an old ebay tower.0 -

thats an old number-crunching business machine designed for large spreadsheets, databases and CAD-CAM work
if your thing is gaming, then its eh wrong purchase. The graphics card is optimised for OpenGL rendering, not DirectX
By modern standards it compares badly to a consumer machine with multi-core Core processor0 -
