excel help please?

Does anyone know an easy way of making a formula in excell to pick up the name of the tab?

I did have one but I have lost the formula and my file corrupted and it is lost!

Do you mean you just want to show the tab name in a cell on the worksheet? If so:

=MID(CELL("filename",A1),FIND("]",CELL("filename",A1))+1,256)

(obviously can't put it in cell A1, if you want to put it in Cell A1 then use this: =MID(CELL("filename",A2),FIND("]",CELL("filename",A2))+1,256)

Thanks - that is what is was definitely I remember - only thing is it isnt working?? it just says TRUE

hmmm, works fine on mine, no reason for it to say "true", did you do a straight copy and paste from the above? Try changing the cell reference from A1 to any other cell on the worksheet and see if that works
