thinking of selling car on ebay - is it difficult !!

We've decided to sell DH's car, and I'm considering putting it on ebay.
It's an automatic, with 7 seats. We know that it is just the car that someone wants, we just need to find that someone ...
But I wonder whether ebay holds too many dangers for selling something of this value (think in the £3k area..).
Obviously I'd expect to get cleared funds before releasing the car, how does it work ..?

I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.

Not too difficult.
Sold mine about 2 months ago, and insisted on cash when picking up the car.
A student bought the car for just under 2k and was very pleased, however I can imagine that you could get some tyre kickers turning up and trying to haggle with you etc. The way to get round this is insist on a Deposit within 24 hours of auction ending which should give you a little bit of a guarantee/buffer should the sale fall through.

yes that's my worry, that somdone bids and wins, then either never turns up, or comes to collect but try to get smart and not pay what they've bid.I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0

Do folk actually turn up with £3k in cash ??
If the only other way would be to send the money by bank transfer the working day before payment then yes I suspect most people would be happy to pay in cash.
