FaceBook using Face Recognition to find you - and how to stop it

Well, they've done it again. Facebook have added a new feature which affects your privacy and (surprise surprise) the default is to have it turned on.

It will take photos in which you have already been tagged, use facial recognition to detect your face in the vast amount of photos Facebook holds, and then when it thinks it has a match it will ask your friends to tag you.

Here's more info, and how to turn it off - http://nakedsecurity.sophos.com/2011/06/07/facebook-privacy-settings-facial-recognition-enabled/

Easy, don't use Facebook, there is life without it.

I admit, I'm trying to get as annoyed as many of the people in the media about this, and I find myself unable to do so.

If you don't want the world using your personal information, then don't put it on the internet.

It's still the case that only your friends can access this new thing, and if you can't trust your friends, then there are worse things they could do than tag you in a couple of photos you aren't actually in.
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.

I use faceache, but just use a made up name. No photo, no info, nothing. My mates know who I am. ;)
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

I can hear the wailing of the shocked members on here when you suggested that.

I thought I'd never join but there are so many free offers where you have to "like" the provider I created a minimal account just so I could do that. All the free stuff has been !!!!! so far.

From the first link there and the screen grab i have nothing of the sort on my settings anyway. Has it really been rolled out to everyone? I think not.
