I want to write to the OFT sending them copies of letters I received and my reply to the original letter but do not know where to send it. Can anybody give me the correct department and address to send them?

Have received another letter asking for a written request that I never took out this account and that I think it was fraudulent. Also need proof of my ID and proof of my addresses since 2001. They say that once they have this they will investigate further. As I have discovered from "The Guardian" website that this credit card ceased in 2009, how can the dates be right? Should I send this stuff or is the onus on them to proove the debt - which they can't! If they have all my information it would be easy enough to fabricate evidence!

You are not obliged to provide proof of your address or ID.

In fact, requiring that you do so is strictly against OFT rules.

That is another thing to report the cheeky barstewards for. :)

CAB meeting went well. I was commended for all the work I had done - that really means you lot, not me! I was told I had done everything right and to ignore any further letters from them. I have emailed Consumer Direct about it and have been told that my local Trading Standards office will soon be in touch. CAB took copies of my letters (after some severe intaking of breath and lots of tut tuts) and a file will be made and put out for general information. This will be picked up by OFT as will my email to Consumer Direct.
Should I also send my own letter to OFT or will this be overkill? Mind you I would like to kill off HFO services!
