I am not a virgin media customer, I just want to contact them to ask if they will stop sending me junk offers through the mail.

    They won't.

Stick them all back in the postbox marked "return to sender" if it annoys you that much.

This topic has come up here before so if you can be bothered to search there are other suggestions.

    File in 'Shredder'.

Aside from the usual generic stuff, today I received the 4th large envelope in 6 mths addressed to me personally, asking me "did I know I had a VM connection to my property" ? Also inviting me to sign up for special deals.
I left them last November, because they couldn't offer me a satisfactory deal.
    Move along, nothing to see.

Send them a letter requesting promotional mail to stopped being sent to you. There a provisions for this in thr Data Protection Act IIRC that means they are obliged to do so, although it may take some time.

It'll be worth signing up for the Mailing Preference Service to opt out of other mailings if you aren't already.
