tights/stockings

Following on from the garter thread it started me wondering.

My mum seems scandalized that I don't plan to wear tights or stockings. My dress is floor length so its not like anyone will see my legs, and tights or stockings just seem like such a hassle - falling down, getting in the way when I'm trying to wee etc.

Is anyone else planning on not bothering or should I be wearing something?

I wasn't planning on wearing any either! We'll be getting married in summer so hopefully warm, and yeah floor length dress who will see!

I'm going to be wearing some description of control bodysuit thingy to avoid VPL and lines etc (plus hold the twins in place lol) so stockings/tights would look stupid in that instance.
But I'll probably get stockings and something prettier for later :p

    I'm not wearing any hoserie.
Normally I would wear tights as I'm a bit funny about having hot legs sticking together, but they'll just be too much hassel in the loo!

i was wondering about this.... i have seen those tights with built in business that look like suspenders and stockings like this http://www.pinkminxlingerie.co.uk/white--black-suspender-stockings-tights-plus-size-one-size-7636-p.asp
maybe thats the way to go? not as hot as tights but not as uncomfortable as stockings

My dress is floor length and I would be wearing tights or stockings, they will make me hot under dress, no one will see my legs anyway and will be a pain when going to the loo!

I went with ivory hold-ups - my dress was floor length but didn't require any underwear except knickers. So lacy knickers, lace top hold-ups and garter :j

I wore the Jasper Conran bridal hold-ups from Debenhams and they stayed up all day. Plus they don't get in the way when you pee (which is enough of a challenge on its own :rotfl:)

I wore tights under my dress only because when i get warm and sweaty my legs start chafing together and it gets really painful and uncomfortable. I got my tights from tesco for about £2.50 i think x they never got in the way of me peeing either

  • It's obviously up to you.
Bare feet are not very elegant so in this respect you should be wearing something - stockings are far more comfy, they don't fall down and it's cooler in them.
It also depends on your shoes. Bare feet don't look too nice in shoes with covered toes and heel - feet tend to look swollen, also it's easier to get blisters this way.
If you're wearing sandals, then definitely go bare feet.

I'd like to offer a man's view on this :D

Please take a moment to remember that there's very little in the wedding day which is about us. We cough up a frightening amount of money to make the day special and one of the very few little touches you ladies can provide for us to make us feel special is to ensure you're wearing something skimpy when that wedding dress comes off.
