I am a little confused.
I have just submitted our CTC declaration for the coming year. Salary for hubby last year 2010 was declared at £28,000 but this year 2011 his salary was £1500 less due to a lack of overtime. £26500 is our declaration for this coming year. My friend seems to think we will get £1500 back-dated but I don't think this can be right can it?

No this is not correct!
You can put in your figures at https://www.entitledto.co.uk and see exactly what your entitlement should have been - then compare it to your award notice for last year to see what the difference is.
If you only have 1 child - you might not have been underpaid at all and if you have 2 or more children (and no other income) you may have been underpaid by approx £600 but this depends on your circumstances.0 -

Thank you, this is what I've worked out using that site
Child Tax Credit award for 2010/2011 £3,647.05 £69.94
Child Tax Credit award for 2011/2012 £4,650.40 £88.94
So will I get any back dated money? I see my weekly payments will go up which is great! :T0 -
