Grrrrrrrr, I wrote to Vodafone when my contract was due to finish to cancel it, I then received a call from cust services asking why etc... and I said I had a PAYG sim card from 02 which gave a good deal, he then offered me 75 mins anytime and 500 txt for £10 a month, I agreed but when looking on the website saw that if you spend £2.50 per week, you get all your calls from 7.30 fri night till mon morning free to any number and also your txts are free, I emailed to ask why I wasnt offered this option and the lovely reply was I signed up for 12 months so if I wish to cancel I can pay £190 and send the cheque to blah blah blah, what excellent customer service hey!

Sorry to hear of the problems you've had, samuela66. The offer you mention (free weekend calls) is called 'Vodafone Free Weekends' and is a pay as you talk only offer available on anynet, anytime, smartplus and smartstep PAYT priceplans. This offer isn't available on a Vodafone Pay Monthly deals.

It sounds like you've got plenty of texts in the deal you've taken out. Regarding cheaper calls, have you considered Stop The Clock? This allows you, on evening and weekend calls, to only pay for the first three minutes of your call (either out of your inclusive minutes or standard rate) then get the rest of the hour free of charge.

Vodafone Family could also lower your call charges if you're on a contract. For £5.00 you can have a group of four Vodafone customers, one user pays £5.00 subscription a month, this allows unlimited free calls (up to sixty minutes a time) between all four members of the group.
