EDF saver online 7

Apologises if this has gone before!
I received a letter today from EDF informing me that my gas & elec are going up in July. I am on the above plan which is a capped rate until dec 2011.
I have to pay a redemption fee if I want to come out of said offer!
Can they do this?
They are claiming it will still be cheaper than standard rate but how can they hike the prices mid deal? Especially if they want to charge me for either terminating or changing the deal:mad:

Confused!!!!!!

OS7 wasnt increased march 1st with the rest - so in theory this is the belated increase from then , although now it does make it more expensive than even fix v2 (sep 2012 capped)

given the SP news i opted for fixed 2014 - its over 3 winters useage and looking at the numbers (for me) , is only £140 a year more than i will be paying come july 14th when OS7 prices go up.

i used energy helpline btw as uswitch doesnt have the new incoming OS7 prices.

    edit:

als as i was changing tarrif and not supplier `Kelly` from edf said there was no charge or fee.

no as osv7 is a variable tariff and the prices on this can go up or down as long as it remains at least 2% cheaper than the standard prices

You can switch to another EDF tariff without paying the ETC. I have just gone to Fixed Saver v2 this morning: that's a 2% hike now, but fixed until 30/9/12.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
