Final bill from Npower

Basically, we moved house in November 2010, immediately switched to Scottish Power and the Npower supply ended in Jan. We received a final gas bill in late Jan and paid it. I rang up about the elec at the time and they said it was being processed.

On 16 Feb we got a letter apologising for the delay but they would send the final bill soon.

Now it's June and we still haven't heard anything. Has this happened to anyone else before? Have they forgotten about us? Would you ring them? I reckon we owe about £150

Have you received any elec bills from SPOW?
If YES, then keep the £150 aside and wait for NPower to contact you.
If NO, then the issues is probably that SPOW has not provided NPower the the change of supplier readings (its new suppliers obligation to provide reading).

Yep, we've had our SP account up and running since Jan. We've had the money set aside since Jan, and I'm not planning on changing that, it just seems a very long time for them to come up with a bill.

Somewhere around your new house you will hopefully have a note of the Elec. meter reading you gave to n'power when you moved out of your old house - GUARD THIS WITH YOUR LIFE

n'power are a company with a "reputation", which includes producing Final Bills based on fantasy figures

I didnt ask if you had an account set up with SP, I asked "Are they billing you"? They are not the same thing.

Just sit back and wait, hopefully it wont come until next year by which time the 12 month back bill rule might be applicable.

Is this as obvious as it sounds, if they don't bill within 12 months, you don't have to pay?

If they dont bill you (incorrect bills count as bills) due to their fault the maximum they can normally back bill is 12 months, exceptions due apply.
