We're not with Sky, I was when living at home and we paid £60 a month for full subscription to tv and a multiroom box, no internet, no phone.
With virgin now, got tv, 10mb BB and free evening and weekend calls and think it's £30ish.The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Depends what channels you want to watch and how much internet usage allowance you're after. Do you want Sky Sports and/or Sky Movies? Do you want HD?
Getting only the basic Variety Pack + 10GB monthly allowance is £30.75 a month with evening & weekend calls.
If you want unlimited internet, its another £7.50 a month.
If you wanted all TV channels including Sports and Movies & HD, it can cost upto £81 a month. So your choices are really vast.0 -
Is SKy best to go with to get the full package ie phone and internet as well as SKy TV.
I think we would want SPorts maybe and we would use the internet but not for downloading anything just for viewing stuff but I would use it a bit.
I take it 10GB monthly means every webpage you view (depending on the size of it) goes off you10 GB im not sure how long that would last we are with Virgin for the internet in my folks house and have no limit0 -
Sorry I misread the Sky website when I went on there, its not 10GB but is actually only 2GB usage in which case, I would recommend spending the £7.50 extra for the unlimited usage.
When you take Sky TV, they do offer you a decent deal on line rental and broadband. While you might find a better deal elsewhere, I'm not really sure if you'll be able to save more than a pound or two each month.
For the record, its £12.25 for the line rental and £7.50 for the unlimited broadband from Sky when you also take Sky TV.0 -

Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
When you say you want 'Sky+', do you mean you want certain Sky subscription channels, or do you simply want PVR (record/playback/delay etc) facilities on the free-to-air channels? If the latter, then why not just get a Freeview or Freesat PVR (Humax is the one to go for) which will be entirely free after for the initial purchase and dish install? No free lunch, and no free laptop0
