Barclays Cash ISA "overpayment"...

Hi,
I'm newly registered (after lurking around for a couple of years) and did try to find a similar thread without much success... I've just received a cheque from Barclays and a note saying I've overpaid on this year's Cash ISA allowance.
I have my current account statement (by a different bank) where 5k were transferred (paid out) via a standing order on April 4. However, Barclays are claiming this falls under 2011/2012 allowance. I've never received a statement from Barclays or anything where I could see when they processed my standing order...
My question to anyone that might be able to help:
Is there anything I can do if the bank chooses not to process the transfer timely?
And just a remark on the side: I have a cheque for 5k in my hands (of my own money, mind you) with my last name MISSPELLED!!!:wall: Try cahsing that one in...
I'll be going to this branch of genious anyway but was hoping anyone would have a helpful suggestion on the April 4 transfer that didn't get processed until the next tax year (despite its disappearance from my account).
Thank you!

The payment may have gone by BACS and taken 3 working days to arrive in your ISA account. Which bank did the payment originate from? You can check how much they will allow you to send as a faster payment by SO.0

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Standing Orders take 3 days to reach the recipients account and so would not have been received by Barclay's until at least 6th April. Regrettably the ISA regulations state that, for standing orders, the date of subscription is the date that the instruction is received and accepted by your ISA provider.Did you really mean to put loose?
Lose: no longer possess, not to retain, unable to find
Loose: not firmly or tightly fixed in place0 -
Ah, I see. That explains it.
Thank you!
Now I only need them to write a cheque that actually has my name on it then.:D0
