Which bathroom suite?

I have a house that I'm renovating to let. The kitchen and bathroom need to be totally gutted and refitted. I would just like to ask if anyone can recommend a good basic quality suite (loo, bath & pedestal basin) that's value for money too. Can you please advise on the best places to buy this and also recommend a good shower - I've been told that Aqualisa are worth looking at? Thanks

You get what you pay for with cheap resin baths. Most of the sheds do cheap bathroom package deals, toilet, sinks, taps are OK but the baths are rubbish and probably wont last long in a rental property where they will probably not be as well looked after as if it were your own property. My advice would be to buy a steel bath and maybe pick up cheap sinks and toilets. £100 will get you a sink and toilet at the sheds.0

The last bathroom we fitted, we used Bathstore, and Ebay, and were really pleased with both. The Ebay purchase was for one of those sink/cupboard combos and I think it was a second as there was a teeny tiny imperfection in the basin, which we didn't mind. If I was doing a BTL I'd definately consider doing that again. Bathstore for the extra large steel bath and two loos - very pleased with all.
I'm currently researching for a replacement bathroom in our current home. I visited Bathstore and was really disappointed with the ceramics there - I'm sure they changed supplier, the glaze was very thin and therefore grey and nothing was smooth! By contrast, we went straight to Homebase after, and their stuff seemed a much better quality.
I've got a search set up on ebay now for a steel bath within 10miles. You can save money if you can give it a bit of time. I'm also going to look on Ideal Standard's website.
Never had any problems with our Aqualise shower in last house, our current shower is a Mira and looks about 25 years old and only just starting to grumble!0 -
Thanks for your replies.
My local bathroom store quoted the Ideal Standard Studio loo & pedestal basin suite at £483 and a steel Roca Contessa bath at £389 (inc VAT).
However I saw a suite on Ebay for £199 (steel bath, loo, basin & taps) which is very tempting but, with it being in a rental property, I'm worried that spare parts will be difficult to get hold of as it is not branded.
Should I go with the Ebay deal or are there any cheaper branded suites that I should be looking at?
Also, my plumber has recommended the Aqualisa Quartz digital ceiling fed pumped shower at £583 (inc VAT), I think because it is easy to fit and has a 5 year warranty. Just wondering if there is another similar 'plumber friendly' shower that will do the job for less?0 -
A 5 sec google shows that bath at £90... I'd look around if I were you0
