I feel this customer only goes to a garage when something goes wrong.

    Still..... Could be worse.

Could be one of the "turn the radio up until the grinding noise goes away" peeps.

thankyou for advice on lights-which is all i asked for.
went to motor factor first thing this morning, got the bulb, and managed to change them myself.felt quite chuffed!
i check tread and pressure in tyres weekly, but thats all i can check myself, which is why i take car to garage regularly to have them checked(is this not needed as well then?)i also check oil/coolant/windscreen washer reg tho not weekly if i'm honest.
i thanked the man who informed me the lights were out last night and sorted the problem out this morning.
SO STOP JUDGING ME,I ONLY ASKED FOR A FRIENDLY BIT OF ADVICE.

To be honest that's all you got considering you stated you only had your tyres checked every 3 months or so, ;);)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

p.s. if its the earth path, what repairing would that involve please?
cleaning the terminals to tracing and replacing the wire in the loom

quick fix solder wire to the bulbs eath and run it to a bolt that is bolted to a painted surface (not seatbelt) boot latch will do

Leave OP alone at least checking is done.

Not everyone is a petrol head or thinks they are.

There are a many more who do absolutely nothing. Think their car is like their phone, switch it on , go.:rotfl:

Worse still there are many, MANY more who get a new (or newish) car as soon as anything goes wrong.
