Hi,
Just after a bit of advice. My buyer says they won't exchange contracts until after a certain date. They say this is because they will have to pay a month and a half worth of mortgage payment. Whereas after that date they will only have to pay the month. Is this true? I thought that a mortgage started from the date you draw down funds not exchanged? So couldn't they just exchange but complete after that date?

Yes, mortgage starts from Completion.
They may think the period between Exchange and Completion is fixed, so suggest you Exchange when YOU want but Complete when THEY want.0 -
