Barclaycard balance transfer limit

got a barclaycard a while ago and did balance transfers, all good. i'd read that you could only do bt upto 90% of your credit limit so made sure i stayed under this. but i've noticed on my online banking that they are saying i can still bt between £250-£1023, which would take me well above 90%. i've got a card with £850 on it which i could move to barclaycard for the 0% offer but bit dubious about doing it as it takes me nearer 100% rather than 90%!!

anybody know why they still say i can bt £1023??

my limit is £9600.

transferred £2200 + fee £70.40

transferred £6000 + fee £192

so i transferred £8200 + fees £262.40 = balance £8462.40

i then paid £5 so i knew i had details correct with my bank for future payments.

i think i've figured it out.

i assumed it was 90% of my credit limit i.e £9600 - £960 = £8640 in total for bt.

but i think it's 90% of your available credit not credit limit!

my available credit is £1142, so 90% of this would be £1028.34 which matches what is available for bt.
