Kodak camera problems - new charger?

I'm having problems with my Kodak camera (MD1063) it won't charge the battery. WHen I plug it in the charging light doesn't come on and the camera now won't turn on....I assume the battery is now completely flat. The charger is a 2 part plug which attaches to the camera using the UB lead which is also used to connect the camera to the computer. A couple of our electrical engineers at work have had a look and struggled to pinpoint the problem but they think it may well be the charger. Has anyone had a similar problem?
Also, where would anyone recommend for buying a replacement charger? I thought argos/comet/currys would sell them but according to their websites they don't!

Hmm, difficult one; as it could be either the charger or the cells within the battery itself.
I know you mentioned that the charge light does not appear, but have you left it on charge regardless for a while?
A lot of electrical apparatus that make use of rechargable batteries can take a while before the battery starts charging if the battery is completely exhausted.0 -
Yes, i left it on over night! I think its the camera now though. I found an old charger that you put the battery in rather than plugging into the camera. It was a different make but the battery fit ok and when I first plugged it in the light came on but then went out after about a minute as if the battery was fully charged.0
