Tips for 6 month move: esp utilities/broadband

Due to refurb, we'll be moving for 6 months (hopefully not longer). Was wondering if anyone had experience of moving for a short period of time and would appreciate any advice on any front.
Main qs are:
- we'll be needing utilities at current accommodation but also new accommodation. I'm with Ovo.
- need broadband/tv for new place. I'm not on any fixed deal as I knew we would be moving but need something that we can transfer back here with no hassle.
- Packing tips. Family of 4, 2 little ones under 3. We will be hitting autumn/winter. I was thinking of colour coding ie. 'no need to open', 'maybe' etc, haven't figured it out yet. Any tips?
- preschool for soon to be 3 starts in Sept 2011. I'll be paying the fee for her term here although she won't be attending. Could I get her into something at the new location for only one term? Or easier to forget it? I do have a full time nanny.
Any other tips, things I haven't thought of greatly appreciated.

You can try PlusNet for broadband. They offer (or did) a min. one month rolling contract. UK based call centre, so it isn't tiresome when you want to update address details etc. Regarding TV is there a sat already installed? If so, you might want to just use a freesat box such as a Dreambox to pick up all the FTA channels.0

Yes PlusNet do 1 month contracts, but they may be a cost in setting up a phoneline. If you have mobile phones and don't need landlines you could get a broadband dongle- 3 and Vodafone both do them, maybe some others.0
