Hope you find a place soon - we also have a dog, which really cut down our choice. In the end, we ended up in a place that was advertised as "no pets", but we offered to pay a bigger (double) deposit.

    Good luck.

I would perhaps try a free portal first like gumtree (is it still free though for wanted ads?) for a couple of wks.

Gumtree has worked for people I know, but you need to be VERY careful as it is full of scammers.

Make sure you use a disposable email address and read all the warnings about scams and don't part with any money unless you are absolutely sure (even if they ask you to transfer money to a friend or relative - it is still a scam and they will steal your money).

Don't go to viewings on your own and take other obvious precautions.

I'm a LL. I let by putting the cheapest ad possible in the local paper. I would contact a Wanted ad as it would save me money!
We say no pets but currently have a tenant with a dog & a hamster (& a baby LOL!) You have more room to negotiate if you speak to the LL direct rather than through an agency.
    Good luck.

Have you considered doing a leaflet drop in the specific area?

It would be difficult to do as we are presently around 180 miles away from the general area we need to move to.
