  • has anyone used old english inns and cashback tracked? i think they new as no tracking info have an online and instore purchase,
    JAN WINS- pepsi tshirt,
  • I have used Quidco for a number of years and have always encouraged others to do so too. The service I have received in the past has been great, and issues have been resolved quickly and easily. The website went from strength to strength and was easy to use for all interactions . . . BUT . . . this appears to have all changed!!!

Cashback constantly doesn't track or is tracked at the wrong amount and when it does track it takes forever to convert, When you chase progress you are fobbed off with a standard message e.g. we'll get someone to look into it. In order to actually chat with someone you have to work your way through a maze to find the online chat option, which used to be in clear view previously (for premium customers).

These are all things that have concerned me over the past few weeks/months, but my latest experience has left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. So much so I have just raised a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman. I made a large purchase which should have resulted in £150 cashback. It originally tracked at £62.50 and then reduced down to £43.75. I was unable to process a claim online, as the rate required was not a selectable option, so I started an online chat. The Agent I chatted with continued to provide various incorrect information which contradicted his reasoning for refusing to accept my claim. The chat ended prematurely when the Agent asked me if there was anything else he could help with and then ended the chat without allowing me to respond.

I have asked several times for a copy of their system audit trail showing the Retailer's rates for the period of time in question, as they refuse to accept my screenshot because it doesn't have a system date displayed (yes, I'm an idiot), but it does however have a last updated date which proves there was a problem with their system based on the facts they have provided me with (which do change day by day). I have also asked them to escalate the matter as I am not happy with any of the information/reasoning they have provided to date, but they refuse to do this.

I would have been willing to let it lie had it been a small amount, but I chose a particular retailer for my purchase based on the cashback offered by Quidco, and could have purchased the item in question cheaper elsewhere had I know the cashback would track at a lower rate.

I cannot prove when my screenshot was taken but I am not a liar (despite what Quidco have insinuated several times), and I am not a complete imbecile (other then the fact I trusted what Quidco advertised and didn't take every measure to capture evidence of their advertised rates) who would purchase a product at the highest price possible.

Fingers crossed I am one of few, but if not I urge you to take the matter further and report your cases here: //help.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/help The more people who complain the more chance Quidco will sit up and listen/act. If they receive enough complaints they will be charged per case.

SandyGW2206 - good luck, but screenshots are a must and not just with Quidco. You have the screenshots though and should be enough. I take screenshots of the offer, the t&c's and even copy the tracking history. I've just done this an hour ago with TCB and a More Than purchase.
I would lodge a complaint direct with the merchant going down the mis-selling route. Basically, you purchased a financial product from the merchants agent (Quidco) and you haven't been paid what was promoted. Misled and / or mis-sold.
They have 8 weeks, but usually settled within 2 weeks.
If denied, they will provide full details of contacting the Financial Ombudsman. I'd also ask for nominal compensation for your hassle - £20 or £30 is easily achievable.
No payments from financial products from cash back sites? Put in a complaint direct and if they don't resolve your issue, head straight to the financial ombudsman - it costs the company £550 in referral fees, win or lose.

£2.50 bonus offer is back and off a minimum £5 spend.
Some merchants pay cashback ex-VAT, so £6 minimum may be safer.

Lol, I’m still waiting for my Quidco £5 bonus from early July, to be honest, most of the problems I have with Quidco are the payments of their own bonus.

This recent one I was asked to forward email, any screenshots etc because in their own words “ we run a lot of these things and we can’t find details of your bonus offer” ....it’s then I mentioned the screenshots etc....so I emailed customer service, but because I’m not willing to pay for “premium service” I have to wait 5 days for an answer. To be honest, I only use them now for the bonuses, TopCashback is a safer option for regular purchases.

mamabuddah - I know what you mean.
Bonuses have to be chased up, but similar with TCB's bonuses.
I've been paid all my Quidco bonuses to be fair and this one tracked in minutes along with the bonus - super quick.
I'm finding Quidco more reliable for tracking at the minute and much quicker.
I prefer to use TCB for the financials due to their FCA status. But, they seem to be reducing a lot of the 5% top-ups at the moment - equal rate for all members - so the premium rate (plus membership) might not be worth it soon. It could be best getting TCB to match Quidco (when Q have a higher rate) and then getting the 5% top-up.
Hard work using cashback sites. lol

I prefer to use discount codes now for many purchases as it's instant and no issues of [naughty] declines, which seem to be creeping in quite a bit of late. I see discount codes as the way forward and would prefer a choice of point of sale discount codes against a slightly higher cashback rate. Strangely enough, the FOS can't really understand the complex cashback system when it would be far easier to issue a discount immediately.
    Best wishes.

  • I've had two high value transactions declined by quidco, one of them seems like a blatent cant be bothered to look into...

I purcahsed a bed from dreams, the inital order didnt complete - waited 10 min or so for order confirmation, but nothing came through.
So i cleared browser cache, baskets, logged off deams, quidco.

Started again, this order went through.
I then got two email confirmations for both orders.
    Quidco also tracked BOTH transactions.

I called dreams to explain and they cancelled one of the orders.

Quidco meanwhile still listed both transactions on the website, and on the mobile app.
After a couple of months, one of them declined- i had noted which quidco transaction id was linked to which orderid on dreams, this one should have been paid. So i raised a request for it to be investigated. I explained the duplicate, giving both quidco transactionid's and both dream orders. While being investigated, the second cashback was declined.
This time however i could no longer raise a request for further investigation. My original request was then declined and the feedback from quidco for it is:
Unfortunately, the retailer has declined your claim, advising us that the cashback has been paid to another referrer. To explain, cashback is actually a commission that Quidco receives for referring an online sale to a retailer. Unlike search engines and comparison sites, we pass this on to our members instead of keeping it for ourselves.

I assume from this, that the cashback has been paid to my other quidco transaction? However i can not dispute that one, and now only one of the two transactions show on my quidco online account, but both on the mobile app?

The cashback amount for this would have been £136 so not a small amount.

Meanwhile, i took out RAC breakdown cover - same cleared cookies, etc.
Tracked fine, and suddenly now has been declined. It was an annual policy which has been paid and is still valid..
Cashback for this would be £67

Small value cashbacks is tracking and payed just fine from the same machine... Topcashback is tracking and paying happily for transactions from the same machine... So whats going on with Quidco???
  • Lol.....customer service response via email.

    “Hi there,
Thanks for your question. We'll look into this as soon as we can and aim to get back to you within 5 working days.”

That was Sunday, this is the latest reply.

    “Hi,

I have had a look into your account and it looks like this bonus was not added in automatically, so I do apologise for any inconvenience caused.
I'll pass this on to the marketing team for you so this can be investigated further, and we'll come back to you if we need any further information.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind Regards,”

Another 5 days?....the transaction (confirmed) was 16th July so I’m still waiting for the Quidco bonus part of the transaction.

    Can anyone tell me please.

If a clicksnap offer has more than 1 redemption available can you have several of the item on one receipt and get the cashback for them all at the same time?

    Thank you!
