getting electricity to the new garage.

I have just had a new concrete garage put up. It stand about 4 foot from the main house..
Does anyone have any idea about how much I am looking at to put electricity to the garage, I have already put a bit of piping to the base of the garage for the electricity cables..
thanks

how far is the garage from the consumer unit? will you be digging the trench to lay the cable?

if it's less than 10m, and you will prepare the groundwork, then i would guess at £250

that would include an RCD garage consumer unit, armoured cabling, and sundries.

The pipe does it run from the house to the garage or just through the foundations of the garage?

the pipe just runs through the base and electrician will need to do some digging...some has been dug out when guy did the base...
the electric meter is about 10 foot away..

Cant you dig the hole yourself and run a cable from your CSU to the garage through a conduit or a scaffold pole?

I could dig the rest of the cable trench to the house... but then the electrician needs to do the rest...

The cables don't have to run underground they can be airborne on re-enforced cable. The height and carry distance are laid down in the regulations.
