House with two meters

Hi,
Back in September we moved into a large all-electric house in the Scottish Highlands, on moving in we found that there are two economy 7 meters.
From my investigations it seems that one meter does purely night storage heaters and hot water, with the other meter covering the rest of the house.
We instigated a switch to EDF in November, the switch happened in February then in April they announced that they were unable to process our two meter set-up and we would be returned to Scottish Hydro. We have had no further notification from either company.
So are few points -
Which companies can support our two meters?
Can we split meters between suppliers?
Is there a chance of compensation?
Thanks,
Robert

They should have offered to change the meter so that they could bill you. You can have 2 meters with most suppliers but you can't use the online system to enter meter readings so that may exclude you from the tariffs that require you to enter meter readings online.
You can only have 1 supplier.
I doubt compensation will be forthcoming.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Is this not a 'white meter' set up that isn't strictly Economy 7.(very common in Scotland) Sometimes called 'Comfort plus' or E10.
With this tariff you get a boost of off-peak electricity in the afternoon. Most E7 systems have all electricity at cheap rate for the 7 hours.
If this is the case, most companies won't accept this tariff.0 -
Thanks, it was an online tariff that we were switching to, as it happens our meters have just been changed, they are now digital with 2 readings and a total on each meter.
The timing is contolled by an old mechanical clock with on set at 11pm and off at 7am, seems that we get 8 hours overnight, set on summertime so the clock time is currently correct.
We do have a little night rate usage on the main meter but there is no day rate usage on the second meter.
When the return to Scottish Hydro is complete I'll check with the chosen company before trying to switch to a non-online tariff.
I will check with Scottish Hydro if we can get the afternoon boost too at a reasonable rate, would be very handy in winter.
Thanks,
Robert0
