I have only banked with HSBC since I was 11. Was considering opening a Barclays or Halifax account because their rates for savings seem to be better.
With HSBC I have :
Current Account
Green Account (reserve money)
Internet Bonus Saver (Ebay, TCB, Adsense)
Cash E-ISA (Savings)
Is it normal to bank with more than one bank?

Spread your nest, I know people with 10+ current accounts yes a bit excessive but you can set up just savings accounts with other banks to see how you find there service in terms of phone banking, internet, branch and see if you prefer it to HSBC or not.Can I find out my credit score? You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)0

3 X Halifax reward accounts - empty, just move £1,000 through them each month to get the £5 reward (Other half also has three, son also has three - all empty (well ... £1 in them,)
3 X Lloyds Vantage accounts - each full with £7,000 to get the highest tier of interest - 4% -(well, until they change it in a couple of weeks)
1 X Santander Zero account - to get 5% on the first £2,500
1 X Santander Business current account - to get 6% on the first £2,5000 -
Do Halifax not catch on that you're doing that? haha0

So you earn around £1295 p.a. on keeping £26000 savings. Not bad :T
...although I hope you do the Halifax payments automatically? because remembering to transfer £36000 through 3 different accounts each year for £180 would be too stressful for me0 -
I currently have basic and regular current accounts with Santander, though they're hardly ever used since I moved to NatWest. With NatWest I have a Step account, a (recently opened) Advantage Gold account, a First Reserve savings account and an e-ISA too. To be honest I need to close the Santander accounts soon. I'm very happy with NatWest.
Gone from Poor to Excellent Credit. Proud of my recovery. Never going back to the sub prime!
