mira shower parts - cheapest place to buy

hi there my Mira Elegance shower is leaking quite badly. mira have washed their hands as it's 3 years old. Not of merchantable quality i would have thought but never mind. we have asked our local plumber to have a look and he has said it will be the aqua valve (Mira said the same thing on the phone so it must be a commom problem) Please can anyone advise where would be the cheapest place to buy this replacement part as he has said for us to buy it and he'll fit it (he's a family friend) However do plumbers get a discount and would we be best getting it through the local bathroom shop where we purchased the shower? thanks for any help.

sorry - it's flow regulator (or valve) apparently it's the only plastic part in there and the model of shower is Mira Escape - perhaps I should have checked before I posted!

If it's any help I recently replaced a mixer valve in a Supajet shower. It was really old and I couldn't find any parts for it, but newer models used exactly the same part. I got it from showerdoc.com (new user - no links!)

... who I emailed and were very helpful. Delivery was fast and no problems!

I had a solinoid valve go on my mira shower. E-Bay was the cheapest place i could find to get a replacement, fitted and had no problems with it.

Try espares.co.uk. Have always found them good.

    Showerdoc are good.
espares never have stock, and never tell you this until a week later when you're chasing it.

thanks for all your help and advice. I got impatient and ordered it direct from Mira for £35 so can't complain. They would have sent an engineer to fit it for £129 inc parts and with a year's guarantee but I think our local plumber will be cheaper. thans again

I work in social housing. We have 100's of Mira showers fitted in our properties. We source spares from Plumbcentre as they get price support from Mira. However the quantity available is always problematic. Mira appear to be more interested in selling new products. I suggest that you try some local plumber merchants first rather than be exasperated with on line retailers.
