2 things i wish i had thought about before buying my engagement ring...this stuff might be obvious to the rest of you but i dont wear any other jewellery and never have done so i didnt know...

your wedding ring has to be the same metal, ie if you buy an 18ct white gold E/ring, then your wedding ring has to be 18ct white gold too or they rub each other away,

my E/ring, the band on it is quite thick, it stands out from my finger, but the wedding ring wont, so the W/ring is always going to look a little drowned (and i cant get a bigger W/ring as i only have a short ring space on my finger! *sigh*)

Curious George - have you looked at heavy court or heavy D shaped wedding bands They 'stand up' taller than a normal flat ring. I'm gonna be getting a 2mm Heavy D band in 18ct white gold... cannot wait!! :)

I would recommend going and getting sized first at a jewellers as your fingers tend to swell in the heat and strink when they're cold.

Would you get them sized at different times of the day? Ernest Jones said I was a K but Beaverbrooks said it was still slippery over the knuckle so should go for a J1/2 (which seems tiny to me and once over the knuckle kind of pulls my skin in so my fingers look fat (fat fingers whatever next!). She did say I might have been carrying excess water as we had just return from Rome (eeeek)
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....
