I wonder if Primark has stopped using child labour and sweat shops....

You got a pair of trousers to last over 2 years?!? I think that was pretty good value for £39.99!!!

I would only expect them to last a year or two if they're worn quite regularly, so I think M&S are being really fair here, and their reply was polite.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

maybe i'm missing something but if you feel the need to complain about your trousers why didn't you go into a branch first to see what they said before writing off and sending bits to head office?

I think the time you've had the trousers is longer than I expect a pair of trousers to last unless they are only worn very occasionally.

I'm confused why the OP decided to cut the broken zip out of the trousers and send just that with his complaint.

Do M&S trousers have specific logos on to show the zip came from clothing sold in their stores?

    My reaction

Since I had enclosed one of the faulty zips and the receipts, I had provided all the evidence that was needed. As it was a general problem, they should have sorted out the problem at head office and not referred me to their local branch.

Subsequent to this, all zips of trousers I have bought from M & S have broken. The trousers I bought from Primark are still going strong.

I have vowed never to buy M & S clothing ever again and would suggest anyone would reads this does likewise.

    I disagree.
How can M&S comment (and possibly take action) on a seam coming unstitched and tags breaking without seeing the evidence themselves?

The sensible thing would have been to pop into your local M&S store and see what they had to say first.

Zips are really easy to replace. Why not just take the trousers to a tailors? Some people are really odd about how long they expect things to last. I remember reading a thread once where someone was moaning that their £3 kettle broke after 7 years :D

    Anyways OP.
I've never used M&S since they put Daks Simpsons out the game and a lot of locals out a job.
They put the work out to Portugal, then had the Polbeth workers spending 2 of their 3 week holidays repairing defects.
This was probably 10 years ago, M&S destroyed loads of manufacturing jobs in the UK single handedly.
