Returning blister pack item

Options
Hi,

I stupidly bought a 1.5mm cable from PCWorld the other day, grand total £12.99, and more stupidly took it out the pack to use. I then checked and found they are a complete and utter rip off, I can get the same on Amazon for 60p.

Now they state items can be returned unused in original packaging, with blister packs it's impossible to not pretty much destroy it getting the cable out. I'm a little outraged at their markup, profit sure, but hell that's worse than the utility companies!

So anyway, can I return it for a refund? The question being whether the condition of "unused and in original unopened packaging" can actually be valid for a blister pack given you can't try the item without opening the pack which seems an unreasonable requirement. I suspect the answer is no, just curious though?

Thanks.

you dont have any rights no. You have simply changed your mind, which they would have refunded you for if you hadnt opened it.

    dont shop there!

It's a valid condition....indeed they've offered you more than your statutory rights.

PC World a rip-off on cables? Can't believe it. These are the people who will sell you a HDMI cable for £20, when a cable costing £2 will do exactly the same, without batting an eyelid.

Bit late now, but why the heck didn't you check BEFORE you bought the bloody thing? Anyone with an ounce of knowledge would have looked around first before spending their money. It's what the net is for.

No you are not entitled to a refund. How are they going to resell it now.? All because you made a simple, albeit stupid, mistake.

    Move on.

I can never understand people who buy things - then keep looking for cheaper prices. its quite bizarre,
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Nothing in the Distance Selling Regulations say it must be returned in a resellable non opened condition.

Was it brought online or in store?

Googlies seems to making some assumptions.

Anyway, if purchased online just contact them to arrange return, and if purchased from a store you would have no rights anyway as it clearly states on the receipt&POS that the item has to be unopened to be returned within 21 days.
