Top of chain new build problems

Help, I could really use some advice. I am in a chain of five. All except the top of the chain are ready to exchange. The issue isbthat they are buying a new build an Wimpey won't say when completion will be. My buyer and their buyer are already really disillusioned and looking at new properties. They wanted to complete a week ago. Until Saturday we were all working towards exchange this week, complete in early July. This they very reluctantly accepted. Today I heard that the top of the chain's new build won't be ready till September!! And they still feel unable to give us a completion date. I am stuck in the middle. I could go into rented, but why should I when it's nit my house that is the problem. I won't exchange with no completion daye or it coiled be Xmas....

Anyone had the experience? Got any suggestions?

Look at other houses, september is a long way away and there is no guarentee it will be ready, or if the mortgage valuation won't be under the sale price.

not a lot you can do if it's not built yet. Will THEY go into rented? THere is no way of forcing them but of course the whole chain could collapse.

That certainly seems to be where it's heading.trouble is they are in their seventies and unwilling to rent. We all want to move but unless they can agree a long stop date, it will collapse. K
