Am i responsible?

hi, my husband and myself are seperated yet i have been told by npower that i am liable for his outstanding debt on the gas of £400 so i am paying little by little every week but its getting harder, is there anything i can do?

please help.

    If your name was on the account, then yes, you are liable. If however it was in your husband's name then you personally are not liable and they should chase him for the outstanding balance - you then transfer the account into your name.

    kelloggs36 is right, if the account is in your husbands name then you should not be liable for the outstanding balance.
