It's a free service that gives a few benefits, mainly a £250 interest free overdraft and no bank charges for things like bankers drafts.

How have you just been 'offered' this service?
Did you walk into a branch and they referred you on to someone to sign up for it? or have you replied to a mailshot either snailmail or e-mail?
Point I'm trying to make is that if you spoke to someone face to face they should have explained it to you and asked at the time if you had any questions. If you respnded to a mailshot again the terms and conditions should have ben sent to you as well in order for you to make an informed decision.

as long as you have a certain amount of money in your account you qualify for the platinum upgrade.
There are a few benefits to it which some ppl will use quite often, often saving hundreds a year.Charles J0 -
like what??0

I have the platinum account, and was automatically upgraded to it as a result of having 2 or more Barclays products.
The benefits aren't amazing, but you get £250 cheque guarantee, can withdraw up to £750 a day from cash machines, £250 interest free overdraft cushion, monthly statements, quarterly finance appraisal, some sort of timebound product insurance on purchases made with the debit card.
I think that's it - pretty silver debit card too :rotfl:"It was not my intention to do this in front of you. For that, I'm sorry. But you can take my word for it, your mother had it comin'."

Sadly no, but just imagine a debit card in a nice matte silver colour :rotfl:"It was not my intention to do this in front of you. For that, I'm sorry. But you can take my word for it, your mother had it comin'."

Sorry, but I'm starting to get suspicious ..... Over on the loans board, you tell us you're a student doing a project and need a copy of the Barclays Platinum card for that purpose. You've been begging for a copy of the card for weeks now.
You've also posted about having your Identity stolen and about defaults and a poor credit record.
Now you tell us that you've been offered a premium banking facility, which is normally only available to "better than average customers" and just happens to be with Barclays. This seems to be despite having had your identity stolen with defaults on your credit record.
Yet you still want someone to send you a copy of the card- why?
Please .... put my mind at rest. Can you tell us exactly what's going on?Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
Debt_Free_Chick, you read my mind
