Pixmania email security breach?

Dear MSE'rs I have just received some spam to my pixmania account email address (I know this because it was addressed to a dedicated email address I used for, i.e. pixmania@....). Has anyone else seen spam via pixmania recently? I am concerned about the fact that they might have had their security breached a la Sony. The…

I've received this spam too. It's on an address i gave only to Pixmania and the email includes my full name.

I have hundreds of email addresses as i give unique emails to any company i deal with.

In the past, since starting to use unique addresses, the only spam i have received has been on my friends reunited address (twice on different addresses with them - so i suspect they actually sell the addresses) and then on the address i gave to Trapster (they at least had the decency to publicly admit they'd had a breach)

Funnily enough I've given several addresses to different parts of Sony so it will be interesting to see what spam i get on those.

Said all this to convince naysayers that there definitly has been a breach at Pixmania. No doubt in my mind at all. Good job they don't take our credit card details isn't it. I say, does anyone have the conact details for the data protection registrar?

I got spam on my pixmania dedicated email alias too. Either a breach or they're selling our emails

pixmania@mydomain
pixmania1@mydomain

they are clearly either selling it
or where breached

Same here, I used a dedicated email address for Pixmania using my Yahoo disposable email address function. I also noticed the email had my full name.

Anyway, I've deleted that Pix disposable email address.

I tend to wait to see what type of breach it was

Ea had a big problem a few months ago
but it turned out they accessed the server to spam
the whole database
so once ea closed the hole the spam stopped

I will leave the pixmania address live for a few weeks
then close it if it keeps coming
all mail will be refused then at the smtp level
with unknown address
